This is just my brainfart, I know this would take ages and is not practical and the video created is probably not "true" to videography ethics or morals or something. It's just stuff I like to do in my spare time and maybe it sparks an idea with someone else that's looking for a solution like this. I don't have the computing power to test this workflow (because you need a lot of processing power and nvidia CUDA graphics card) so I can't answer any questions regarding it.Example commands for all the tools can be found online just by googling them. Dain-app can be downloaded and used for free although it looks like you have to buy it when you look at the website; just read on and you will see that it's actually free and you can download and use it without any cost. Dain-app NEEDS a CUDA capable graphics card and won't work without it. And it needs loads and loads of memory on that card.

The solution to view and ingest XAVC clips from the PXW-X70 is to download Catalyst Browse, a free software from Sony. Catalyst Browse allows you to convert the files to ProRes for importing into FCP X. It's a workaround until Sony and Apple engineers sort it out.
The first package is called Catalyst Browse, a free package for browsing and playback of media on Mac or PC. This will greatly simplify being able to view the files from Sony cameras, as often it is difficult to navigate the file structure and find the clips you wish to see, even if the player you are using understands the codec. Catalyst Browse will be included with purchases of Sony cameras and will also be available to download at the end of September.
Catalyst Browse is a free application. Catalyst Prepare is available for $199.95. Both applications will be available for digital download and physical purchase on September 30th. For more information, please visit: www.sonycreativesoftware.com/catalyst.
macOS Catalina is available now from the Mac App Store as a free download. Expect two restarts during the upgrade, including the need to enter an administrator password roughly 15 minutes into installation, the one remaining hiccup in the Mac update process.
So i recorded some footage in the XAVC-HS format as a test and wanted to use the catalyst browse stabilization feature on it. However, catalyst browse doesn't yet open this codec, and whenever I transcode it - I lose the metadata. Does anyone have any ideas for a workaround? Thanks!
I long for the day when we ca do this gyro stabilization in camera or in other editing software. It sounds good on the surface, but my goodness catalyst browse is some awful software that crashes constantly even with correctly recorded footage, which is a shame because the stabilization is phenomenal.
